Michael C. Morgan, Chairman

Michael Morgan serves as Chairman of Star Peak Corp II and as director of Stem, Inc., the first pure-play smart energy storage company to go public in the U.S., after merging with Star Peak Energy Transition Corp. In 2008, Michael co-founded Triangle Peak Partners, LP, a multi-strategy asset management firm focused on venture capital and growth equity, and he currently serves as its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Since 2004, Michael has also served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Portcullis Partners, LP, a private investment partnership and one of Triangle Peak Partners’ largest limited partners. Michael is also lead director of Kinder Morgan, Inc. (NYSE: KMI), one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America – a company he joined at its founding in 1997. Michael headed Kinder Morgan’s corporate development efforts until 2001, completing 23 acquisitions worth over $5 billion, before serving as the company’s President until 2004.

Michael has served on the board of Sunnova Energy International, Inc. (NYSE: NOVA), a leading residential solar and energy storage company, since 2019. He first joined the board of NOVA’s predecessor (Sunnova Energy Corporation) in 2015, served as Lead Director until 2016 and remained on that board until NOVA’s initial public offering in 2019. Michael previously served on the boards of directors of two public energy funds affiliated with Kayne Anderson (NYSE: KYN and KYE) and on the boards of directors of Bunchball Inc., Lytx, Inc. and SCIenergy, Inc.

Michael received a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Master of Arts in Sociology from Stanford University. He is a frequent volunteer at Stanford University, currently serving as the national chair of The Stanford Fund, as co-chair of the Precourt Energy Institute Advisory Council, and on several other advisory committees.

Eric Scheyer, Chief Executive Officer, Director

Eric is Chief Executive Officer and director of Star Peak Corp II, and formerly served as Chief Executive Officer and director of Star Peak Energy Transition Corp., a public entity that merged with Stem, Inc., creating the first pure-play smart energy storage company to go public in the U.S. Eric has extensive experience investing in the energy, energy infrastructure and renewables sectors. He is a partner at Magnetar and has served as the head of the MTP Group at Magnetar since its inception. Eric is a member of Magnetar’s management committee and investment committee, and is the chairman of the MTP Group’s investment committee.

Eric serves on the boards of directors of Vesper Energy Development LLC and Lightstar Renewables LLC – both Magnetar portfolio companies operating in the utility scale solar and distributed solar space. He is also on the board of Great Elm Group, Inc. (NASD: GEG) and formerly served on the board of managers of the general partner of Lightfoot Capital Partners, LP and on the board of Arc Logistics Partners LP (NYSE: ARCX). Previously, he was a principal of Decorel Incorporated, where he served as President of Decorel S.A. de C.V. and Executive Vice President of Decorel Inc. until the sale of the company to Newell Rubbermaid. Eric received a Bachelor of Arts from Trinity College.

Adam E. Daley, Director

Adam serves as a director of Star Peak Corp II and director of Stem, Inc., the first pure-play smart energy storage company to go public in the U.S., after merging with Star Peak Energy Transition Corp. He is a partner at Magnetar, co-head of Magnetar’s MTP Group and a member of Magnetar’s management and investment committees. Since joining Magnetar at its inception in 2005, he has been focused primarily on the sourcing, execution and management of various investments in the energy, energy infrastructure and renewables sectors. Prior to joining Magnetar, Adam was an investment banker at Citigroup’s Global Corporate and Investment Bank, where he was responsible for executing a variety of corporate finance transactions. Adam currently serves on the boards of directors of Double Eagle Energy III, LLC, Vesper Energy Development LLC - a Magnetar portfolio company operating in the utility scale solar space - and DoublePoint Energy, LLC. He earned his Bachelor of Science in finance with high honors from the University of Illinois.

Desirée Rogers, Director

Desirée serves as a director of Star Peak Corp II and as former director of Star Peak Energy Transition Corp., a public entity that merged with Stem, Inc., creating the first pure-play smart energy storage company to go public in the U.S. Since 2019, Desirée has served as the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Owner of Black Opal Beauty, LLC, a masstige makeup and skincare company for women of color sold in Walmart, CVS and Rite Aid as well as internationally. From 2013 to 2019, she served as the Chairman of Choose Chicago, the tourism agency for the city of Chicago with $1 billion in revenue and over 57 million visitors annually. Desirée was the first White House Social Secretary and Special Assistant to President Obama. Prior to this post, she served as the President of Peoples Gas and North Shore Gas.

Desirée is a member of the boards of directors for Inspired Entertainment (INSE) and MDC Partners (MDCA), as well as chairs MDC Partners' compensation committee. She also serves on the board of non-for-profit, DonorsChoose, a group funding platform that grants over $120 million to public school teachers each year.

Desirée received a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Wellesley College and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

Alec Litowitz, Director

Alec serves as a director of Star Peak Corp II and as former director of Star Peak Energy Transition Corp., a public entity that merged with Stem, Inc., creating the first pure-play smart energy storage company to go public in the U.S. He is the founder, Chief Executive Officer, chairman of the management committee and co-head of the investment committee of Magnetar. Prior to founding Magnetar in 2005, Alec was a Principal at Citadel Investment Group and served as Global Head of Equities and a member of Citadel’s management and investment committees. He created and continues to be extensively involved with the Magnetar Capital UChicago Financial Education Initiative, an innovative high school-based financial education initiative which has helped more than 22,000 students increase their financial literacy. Alec graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and anthropology and received a Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago.

C. Park Shaper, Director

Park serves as a director of Star Peak Corp II and as former director of Star Peak Energy Transition Corp., a public entity that merged with Stem, Inc., creating the first pure-play smart energy storage company to go public in the U.S. Park served in various management roles for the Kinder Morgan companies from 2000 until March 2013, when he retired as President of Kinder Morgan, Inc. (NYSE: KMI), Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, L.P., Kinder Morgan Management, LLC and as director and President of the general partner of El Paso Pipeline Partners, L.P. Since 2007, Park has served on the board of directors of Kinder Morgan, Inc., and he previously served on the boards of directors of Kinder Morgan G.P., Inc. (the general partner of Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, L.P.) and Kinder Morgan Management, LLC from 2003 to 2013. Park also serves on the board of directors of Sunnova (NYSE: NOVA) and as a trust manager of Weingarten Realty Investors (NYSE: WRI). He received his Master of Business Administration from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, and a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in quantitative economics from Stanford University.

Craig Rohr, President

Craig serves as President of Star Peak Corp II and has significant experience investing in sustainability and environmentally-friendly businesses. Craig is also Managing Director and Portfolio Manager for Magnetar’s MTP Group. Prior to joining Magnetar in 2009, Craig worked out of London for First Reserve Corporation, a global control private equity and infrastructure investment firm. Craig focused on First Reserve’s portfolio company investments across North America, South America and Europe. Craig worked for Citigroup’s Global Energy Investment Banking Group prior to First Reserve. Currently, he serves on the boards of directors for Vesper Energy Development LLC and Lightstar Renewables LLC, Magnetar portfolio companies operating in the utility scale solar and distributed solar space. Craig earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Business Economics from the University of Notre Dame.

Michael D. Wilds, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accounting Officer

Michael serves as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accounting Officer for Star Peak Corp II, and as former Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accounting Officer for Star Peak Energy Transition Corp., a public entity that merged with Stem, Inc., creating the first pure-play smart energy storage company to go public in the U.S. Michael joined Magnetar in 2006 and is Chief Operating Officer of the Magnetar’s MTP Group. Prior to joining Magnetar, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of the affiliated companies of The Kansas Farm Bureau. Michael also spent 20 years with Koch Industries, Inc. where he served in various senior roles, both domestic and international, including as Chief Financial Officer of Koch Industries International. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Kansas State University.

Dain F. Degroff, Executive Vice President, M&A

Dain serves as Executive Vice President, M&A of Star Peak Corp II. He is a co-founding partner of Triangle Peak Partners, LP and serves as President. He has significant experience working with private and public companies, providing strategic, process and financing solutions. Prior to Triangle Peak, he served as a Managing Director with Fort Mason Capital, where he conducted private, direct investments in private and public companies, focusing on the technology, alternative energy and energy sectors.

Prior to Fort Mason, Dain was an investment banker at both Hambrecht & Quist and JP Morgan, where he executed numerous M&A, debt and equity transactions in the technology sector and also led both firms’ global efforts in mobile and wireless technologies. Prior to his banking experience, he was a consultant for Accenture Consulting in its Technology practice. Before entering the workforce, Dain completed the U.S. Navy’s Nuclear Engineering program and served as a U.S. Navy Submarine officer on a fast-attack submarine.

He serves as a board member for Aerospike and Bugcrowd and as a board observer for ACME Technologies, AlphaSense, PCH International, Skedulo, Sojern, SnapLogic, Suzy and TakeLessons.

He received a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. Dain serves as a Committee Member on the Stanford University DAPER (Athletics Department) Investment Fund.

Courtney Kozel, Head of Investor Relations

Courtney is Head of Investor Relations for Star Peak Corp II and former Head of Investor Relations for Star Peak Energy Transition Corp., a public entity that merged with Stem, Inc., creating the first pure-play smart energy storage company to go public in the U.S. Courtney also currently serves as a Director within Magnetar’s Investor Relations group. Prior to joining Magnetar in 2016, Courtney spent about four years at Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC, focused on alternative investment client services. Prior to that, Courtney worked in Investor Relations at Chicago Fundamental Investment Partners, LLC.

Courtney graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from the University of Notre Dame in 2005.
